12 Week Update

Brian and I had so much fun watching the baby move around today on the ultrasound! It was so amazing to this itty bitty thing on screen and know that it is happening inside of me! I had to drink a sugary drink prior to the u/s so that the baby would be active. Brian called it "getting our kid all hopped up on sugar!" Either way you look at it, it's pretty cool! I posted the images below! We got to bring home 6 different screen shots. I labeled them to help you orient yourself with what you are looking at, so I hope it helps! Now I don't get another peek at he or she until they are 20 weeks! That seems like forever! I have been taking belly pictures but to someone who doesn't see me on a daily basis, it is hard to see that I have grown, just a bit! I'll post those here in the next two weeks or so! We are still set on waiting to find out the gender and have now started brainstorming on ideas for decorating the nursery! It's going to be tough because all the little girl and boy decorations are too cute! I have to hold back!

10 Weeks 6 Days

I had my second check-up with the doctors yesterday and we got to hear the baby's heart beat on the Doppler machine! It was so amazing! It was beating a strong 160 bpm! It was unbelievable! I hope they let us listen at every appoitment. Now I can't wait until the 28th because then I will be 12 weeks and we get to do our second ultrasound! I can't wait to see the arms and legs and the face profile!!! So excited!
Brian and I decided to wait to find out the gender of the baby until it is born!Thinking of that moment sends chills up my back so I know it is the right thing for us to do! Although I am definitely going to drive myself nuts not being able to go all out with girl or boy stuff, I will still have fun coming up with creative ways of decorating the nursery so it is neutral enough until "he" or "she" arrives! Then it's pink and blue crazy time!

Week 9

I am officially in my 9th week and I am VERY tired! I seem to never have energy for anything! I had an ultrasound to determine the due date last week, and unfortunately they pushed it back by about 2 weeks. So I am due on April 11th, instead of March 31st. I think it looks like a lima bean in the u/s, and I think it is a profile shot, but my sister seems to think you can start to see limbs and face features... you decide! My next u/s is Sept. 28th and I will be 12 weeks.... CAN'T WAIT!!!

Big NEws

After a wonderful week in Kauai, HI, Brian and I returned home, only to find me simply washing my clothes and putting them back in my suitcase. Chelsea and Lila were set to land in LAX on friday (2 days after we got home), and I was going to pick them up and spend 4 days in L.A. with many of the Devine family members! In fact, Rachel and Patrick got married, which was the point of the trip! After some So Cal visiting, Chels, Lila, and I escaped back to Bakersfield to spend a few days relaxing by my pool and garage saleing. I had a wonderful visit with them and felt as though I had been on the go for two straight weeks (which is what I attributed my exhaustion to!)!! Brian and I took them back to LAX on Sunday, just one day before we got our big news...
I knew I was "late" but wasn't getting my hopes up since I'd been "late" before, only to have my hopes dashed, so I was going to wait it out. On monday, I had a scary ordeal which found me crying to Brian on the phone and freaking out. When he got home he insisted I take a pregnancy test and low and behold... I was pregnant!! There was a very faint line, but it was there! I immediately called the doc and went in for a blood test. The next day it was confirmed, I was actually pregnant!
Now I am 7 weeks today (8-13-09) and am awaiting my first OB appointment on the 20th. Chels and I have conjured up a plan to basically trick the doctor into doing an ultrasound, since I want to see our little bean... some physical evidence to prove I'm not just making this stuff up!!
So far so good... no morning sickness, just a littel nausea when I go too long between meals.
